What are Celebrities Wearing for their Weddings?
Many celebrities are still opting for the traditional white wedding dress. Others are choosing different colors such as red, one of the hottest new colors for weddings today. The choices and styles of wedding dresses are varied and often depend on where the bride and groom tie the knot.
What are they Wearing?
Mark Wahlberg and his girlfriend, Rhea Durham who is a model were married after dating for several years. The bride wore a Marchesa dress that was white, strapless and had silver embroidery.
Heidi Montag, star of The Hills, a reality show on MTV was married in Pasadena in 2009. Her wedding dress was an original creation made by Monique Lhuillier. This dress was said to have cost $20,000.
Monique Lhuillier is known for designing wedding dresses for many high profile celebrities. Among the stars she has designed dresses for are singer, Pink, whose dress was ivory and black. Emilie de Ravin, from the television show, Lost wore a Monique Lhuillier lacy, long gown at an intimate wedding. Both wedding dresses of Britney Spears were designed by Lhuillier – the one she wore to marry Kevin Federline was an Italian silk.
Sarah Ferguson “Fergie” wore a Dolce & Gabbana mermaid wedding gown when she married Josh Duhamel. The gown had a fitted bodice with black and white florets at the hemline. This dress also had a train that was 40 feet long.
When actress, Jenny Mollen and Jason Biggs took their second time around, she wore a Monique Lhuuillier dress. This was a strapless dress, made of chiffon with a bodice that was draped and a handkerchief hem.
Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict exchanged vows wearing a Kevan Hall gown. This empire tulle dress had draping which was at the bust and was one shouldered with a floral garland.
Melanie Knauss Trump wore a wedding gown designed by Christian Dior. This was a strapless white gown that was form fitting and had a train that was 16 feet long and weighed 50 pounds. How much do you think this dress cost? It was $100,000.
Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher were wed with Demi wearing a gown by Jeanne Lanvin. This was a floor length dress, sheath-style and had shoulder straps that were jeweled. The simple, yet elegant dress was stunning.
Although it did not last, when Jennifer Aniston wed Brad Pitt, she wore a dress designed by Lawrence Steele. This was a white dress made of tulle in a halter style. The dress had tiny pearl embellishments and was considered by many as a perfect wedding dress.
Many celebrities have gotten married wearing designer gowns. Some of the most famous ones that have been worn by celebrities have been Jennifer Lopez, who wore a Vera Wang dress.
Actress Eva Longoria was married in an Angel Sanchez gown of silk wool.
Katie Holmes wore an Armani wedding gown when she wed Tom Cruise.
Gwen Stefani chose a pink and white dress for her wedding. This dress was a John Galliano for Dior design.
Christina Aguilera wore a flamenco-style wedding dress which was a Christian Lacroix design.
Katie Heigl chose an Oscar de la Renta wedding gown for her marriage to Josh Kelley.
